Regardless of the quality of the fabric what holds it all together is the stitching. A lot of money can be saved by the manufacturer if they choose to use a low quality thread. Imported mass produced shade sails and unfortunately some locals made shade sails use this cheap thread knowing full well the shade sail will only last a couple of years.
